^^^^this is my favorite picture. i have an obsession with fishnet/mesh anything.
take some time out and actually read this interview people. he said some good stuff. i enjoyed reading it and you will too.
Name, age,location:
Michael Muse, 20, I'm from DC but I go to school in Atlanta, GA
Favorite color:
Silver
Favorite piece of clothing you own:
Black softrock Diesel boots (I can pair them with anything)
dream item you wish you had:
The gray Alexander Wang Boots, ugghhh too bad they weren't comfortable when I tried them on... :(
if you could wear one brand for the rest of your life what would it be (choose one for clothes choose one for shoes.):
I can't just pick one.. ummm Clothes: Hood By Air, I LOVE THEM. They are probably my favorite underground brand. Nobody makes the type of garments they do... But I really like Jeremy Scott too, his clothes are so playful and edgy at the same time. I hate that you mad me pick one!! Shoes: Raf Simons, Their shoes never cease to amaze me. I only have one pair but I love all their shoes...
okay, now describe your style and make it detailed ! the longer the more intriguing:
NOOOO!!!! Just Joking. My style is a culmination of everything that I like. I don't take myself too seriously and I don't really like to wear too much at once. A lot of the things I've been getting recently have unique shapes to them and are structured really well. I used to be the guy with lots of colors on and probably too many accessories but now that I'm older I understand that form and composition of ensemble is what truly defines style. I'm actually pretty naked most of the time. I look at a ton of overseas magazines (i.e. POP, Plastique, Dansk) and it seems that they just aren't afraid to do certain shit over there so I guess I draw inspiration from there too. I really like oversized tops and super skinny pants. Harems are cool too... I had a phase where I wore nothing but Harem pants earlier this year. I guess that's it. I really just chill when I'm putting together fits. It's not that serious and it's really not hard to look nice. People do too much, simplicity is key. Well most of the time lol.
who inspired your style at this present moment:
Jay-Z inspires me. Random, I know, but all black is amazingly chic. ALL BLACK EVERYTHING. Other than that I guess my friends inspire me. We all have our own looks and as a collective a lot of people like what we are doing, style wise. My style at the moment really just comes from me trying to find new ways to wear old stuff. It's crazy how long it's been since I have seriously been shopping. I've even gone back to ripping up old jeans and stuff... It's a recession.
what dreams do you have:
Much like everyone else my age, I wanna rule the world, end of discussion. I kid I kid. I'm a dreamer so to sit here and really list my dreams would take too much time. I'm really focused on graduation right now, I want to one day have be a columnist for a magazine like NYLON, V magazine, or HONEY. This is super cliche' to say but I really just wanna be successful (yuuuppp). I'm a pop culture nerd so as long as I'm in that field somehow and making a comfortable amount of money doing it, my dreams will be manifested.
who do you think has the best style:
Cartoons have the best style, I was looking at some vintage Jem and the holograms footage the other day and they wore the best stuff. I'm obsessed with Amber Rose and I dare someone to say something to me about it. She's just a BAADDD girl and that makes me smile. Rihanna is gonna look amazing no matter what so she doesn't count. Many people that I like get slept on, like Kerry Washington always looks great, I think that Erykah Badu is cute as shit. Hmm, who else? I appreciate what Lady Gaga is doing but she's been getting on my nerves lately, I know it's all apart of her act though so she is still on the list. This is a hard one because everyone thinks that they are fashion now so everybody looks good atleast some of the time... In all honesty my parents had the best style, like old party pics of people in the 70s and 80s are the best to me.
addiction:
I'm addicted to ice cream. For a long time I couldn't go to the grocery store without getting a pint of ben and jerry's. I'm also a functional alcoholic but we won't get into that.
do u have any style icons that you look to for inspiration:
Not really I'm pretty much all over the place.
where did you get the your hairspiration (hair inspiration) from:
Long story short this past summer I had a ridiculously early mid life crisis and I wanted to do something different with my hair. So I cut off the huge curly fro and tried to get something different. I was mildly regretful at first. The more it grows the more I like it. It's starting to look like if Prince and Wolverine had a baby... Exciting!! Now I'm just gonna keep growing and see what happens.
thoughts on my blog:
I really like it! It's definitely one of the daily ones I go to now... It's different from the rest of the fashion blogs that are out there. You just post on what means something to you and that's what makes people keep coming back.
( i wanna thank mike for actually taking time out and answering these questions in a detailed manner. believe it or not get people to do these interviews and they seem totally uninterested. and thats mostly the reason why you guys havent seen an interview in a while. but again thanks mike. oh and he personally took these photos for me. i request all new photos and he provided them in a jiffy ! )
***i honestly love other peoples take on fashion and style. thats why i do style interviews on my blog. and im currently looking for a stylish girl to be featured on my next style interview **
